Josh is a Wilderness First Responder, an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Oregon Mycological Society. Josh’s passion is turning nature/wilderness into a Jewish classroom where people can fully experience Creation. His style of education is heavily influenced by nature as learners follow their natural rhythms in order to discover their own lessons.

Josh’s camping career started at Camp Wise as a camper in 1979. Since then he has earned a Master’s Degree in Jewish Education from Jewish Theological Seminary, worked at camps around the country (Camp Ramah Ojai, Pinemere Camp, Camp Alonim, JCA Shalom, Soloman Schechter, BB Camp Oregon, Camp Tamarack and many others) in order to strengthen their outdoor and trip programs. Josh has lived and worked in Israel, backpacked around Asia for 2 years and has hiked extensively throughout the United States. Josh currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his beautiful wife Tamar and daughters, Ayelet and Dov.
