Noam Katz

Rabbi Noam Katz, MAJE, got hooked on Jewish music during his many wonderful summers growing up at URJ Eisner Camp in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.  A native of Rochester, NY, Noam is a lifelong Jewish educator, songleader and storyteller. Along the way, he has performed at camps and congregations across North America, Israel, and Africa, bringing a passion for Jewish text, social justice and world music, as well as his trademark sense of humor. Noam has released three CDs of original Jewish music: Rakia; Mirembe, Salaam v'Shalom; and A Drum In Hand.

He has served on the faculty of the FJC Cornerstone seminar, Hava Nashira and Shabbat Shira, and looks for every opportunity to train, inspire and learn from the next generation of song leaders and camp counselors.  Noam is a graduate of Brown University and received his Rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in 2010. Today, he serves as the Dean of Jewish Living for the Leo Baeck Day School in Toronto, leading dynamic worship and crafting Jewish curricula for over 750 “scholars in short pants.” He lives in Toronto with his wife Jaime and their three joys of joy: Mikayla, Ezra and Roey.
